Minds, like parachutes function best when open!!!
I am - You are
I was - You were
I have never been - But you were
Without me- without love
Most you can ever do is to help someone help themselves!
When you are through changing you are through!!!!
What difference does it make whether it is fiction or fact if it helps us learn how to act??
The measure of you as a person is if you can listen to others when your own hurt needs hearing. (Written for me after finding out my Father was critically ill two days before)
Of all the Irish shamrocks a growin Kularney Surn I love ya lots and lots and that's no Irish blarney!

More Daily Thoughts...
When I walk deep inside with you I can really tell- A broken heart of yesteryear today and tomorrow as well!
Those who love can endure until those who don't learn to mature!
No Difficulties- No Discovery- No Pains-No Gains!!!!!
They who do not try to surpass their teacher do an injustice to them self as well as their teacher!!!!!
A little word of kindness can erase all gloom and leave within it's place a seed for love to bloom!!!!
The only bridge that will last forever is built on trust and respect!!!!

Wednesday....
Why do Children use words to show how they feel and "adults" use words to hide how they feel???
Love is not measured by how many you touch but by how many you reach!!!!
The problems of life are supposed to make us better not bitter!!!
One mouth - two eyes- two ears what's the message?
It is better to understand a little rather than misunderstand a lot!!!!
You are writing a book everyday- by what you do and what you say!!!
Your temper improves the more you don't use it!!!!

Some More Thoughts from Class... and a personal Tribute
Today my Father would have been 77 years old, sadly he passed away 21 years ago, before he saw me graduate from high school, get married, have my Daughter. But I know in my heart that my Daughter knows my Father as he kept her safe before she was mine. I love him every single day and today is dedicated to him and his memory!
Day 12: Don't react to it --- Act on it !!!!
Day 13: Even more critical than a Mother's love is the love of other young!!!
Day 14: Why do we teach our children to walk and talk and then tell them to sit down and shut up?
Day 15: The real shame is not that children are afraid of the Dark but "Adults" are afraid of the light!!!

Some things to think about
1. Assume: Don't know and too mentally lazy to find out
2. Opinion: Something everyone is entitle to have
3. Misconception: Wrong Idea
4. Pre Conception: An opinion formed without thorough study.
Questions to ask yourself:
1. Are you happy ?
2. Do you have a zest for living?
3. Are you socially adjusted?
4. Do you have unity and balance?
5. Can you live with any problem in your life that comes up?
6. Do you have insight into your own conduct? (Do you understand the things you say and do?)
7. Do you have a confidential relationship with anyone?
8. Do you have a sense of ridiculous?
9. Are you engaged in satisfying work?
10. Do you know how to worry effectively? Do you know how to worry affectingly?
These were two things that Mr Wetzel put on the board to get us thinking... even as I think about these today my answers are different than they were when I was 16

My Inspiration for this blog
This is my little girl, she is my inspiration for finally starting this blog, I want her to be able to read this and know that her Mother loves life and how she learned to love herself and others.
The Beginning of my Journey
Search for Awareness
When I was in high school there were times in both my Junior and Senior years that I had to take "filler" courses since I had tried so hard to get my basic classes out of the way in my freshman and sophomore years. My junior year there was a class offered called "Search for Awareness" it was taught by a teacher I had never met but would become a great role model and supportive friend over the year. The first thing I noticed about this class was it's location, it was in the basement of a building with the "art" classes, Mind you I was no artist so I had never been down this hallway.
When I went to class the first day I found the most kind, gentle hearted teacher I had ever encountered, Mr Jim Wetzel, this was a very large class that was considered a "fluff" course by most students, I went in with no idea what I had gotten myself into and I considered after the first day to ask for a different class since I noticed that there were a lot of people in the class that thought it was a joke and I didn't feel like I had time to deal with them but something made me change my mind and I stayed. To this day I know this class was meant for me because 20+ years later I still have my original notebook with comments from Mr. Wetzel.
I don't remember the course description but just the title intrigued me, "Search for Awareness". I ask what the heck kind of class could this be? Awareness of what? I walked in on day 1 very confused. Here I was a 16 year old who didn't know how much I didn't know about myself or "love", I walked out with a friend and a better knowledge of myself and love. I remember telling my Father about this class and he asked, "Why are you taking a hippie class?" I told him that it intrigued me and I wanted to learn more about it. He told me he was ok with me taking the class and so here I went on a journey that I didn't know if I was ready for, in fact a few days in I knew I wasn't when I cried everyday for a week because it was uncomfortable but in a good way. Weird I know but I now believe it was a "God" thing as to why this class spoke to me.
Class started in January and so began my journey or Search for Awareness, I don't remember even one other student in this class, I do however remember a ton of what I was taught and the awesome teacher. Class started out the same each day, there was always a saying or quote on the board that went in our notebook, the introduction was the day after my 16th birthday it was- "What makes you think that you think?" At the time I thought it was a joke- but then class went on and that question was the root of the class. All that was required was a notebook, a writing utensil and your attention. Pretty much everyday we watched films, I have the names of most of them and I am hoping I can find them again but not sure since they were super old in 1991, so I can't imagine since most were not even on VHS or BETA but had to be on a projector with the lights off. I remember lost of student sleeping or goofing off but it was 1st hour and a little after 7 am so it is hard for at teenager to stay awake since they generally didn't sleep much the night before.
During the course of class I learned so much about myself but even at the time I didn't know it. I will blog more later but for now just think about that one question::
What makes you think that you think?
